Founding Software Engineer / Head of Engineering

• Own the full technical stack: firmware, cloud backend, iOS app
• Take over and improve existing embedded firmware
• Architect and build cloud infrastructure from scratch
• Create an iOS app designed for users with limited literacy
• Work with our hardware manufacturing partner on iterations
• Leverage AI as your core development partner
• Ship V1 to market, then continuously improve

You might be our person if:

• You've shipped complete products—ideally something that touches hardwareYou obsess over UX details that most engineers ignore (information architecture, interaction flows, animations, sounds, micro-interactions)

• You're going all-in on AI-assisted development and have real examples to show

• You can reference Flighty, Linear, or Things as design inspiration—not Jira or Salesforce

• You're comfortable learning domains you don't know yet (embedded, livestock, whatever)

• The idea of debugging collars on cattle in rural Paraguay sounds interesting, not terrible

• You want to build something that matters in the physical world

Background we're looking for:

• Strong software engineering foundation (any language/stack— AI bridges gaps)

• iOS/mobile development experience (our UX vision lives here)

• Some exposure to hardware or embedded systems (even hobbyist level)

• Product sense—you know what "simple" really means

• Some exposure to product or interaction design (e.g. designing flows in Figma, collaborating closely with designers, or caring deeply about layout and visual hierarchy)

• Startup mentality: resourceful, autonomous, ships fast

• AI skeptics ("I don't trust generated code")

• People who've only worked in big company silos
